Who’s Your Remarkable Woman?
Courageous, inspiring, nurturing - remarkable women do things every day that make us stronger and our lives more fulfilling. For each of us, there is a special woman who at some point in our lives encouraged and helped us and others to dream, create, learn, study, and persevere. Because of her, many live better lives filled with courage, inspiration and hope.
The Orange County chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO-OC) has declared October as Remarkable Women month. On October 15, hundreds will pay tribute to three successful woman business owners for their leadership, ingenuity, and tenacity at NAWBO-OC’s annual Remarkable Women dinner from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Hilton Hotel in Costa Mesa. In honoring these three business leaders, we also want to hear about many other remarkable women and the extraordinary things they have done to make the world a better place to live.
Tell us about your Remarkable Woman!
She could be a mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, wife, friend, teacher, or mentor. Honor and pay tribute to this special woman through the Remarkable Woman Video Contest.
Submit your two minute video telling us about the outstanding achievements of the remarkable woman in your life. The video will be posted on the NAWBO-OC Facebook and Twitter pages as well as the NAWBO-OC YouTube channel. The three winning videos will be selected in early October, and honorees of the winning videos will receive a surprise gift and copy of the video courtesy of NAWBO-OC and PoshPartyBox.com.
NAWBO-OC Remarkable Woman Video Contest - Guidelines
1. Video should be two minutes in length. Video should be two minutes in length and include contestant’s as well as honoree’s name, honoree’s city of residence, relationship of contestant to honoree, and at least one or two great examples of what honoree has done that is remarkable. Please note, videos that are longer than two minutes will be disqualified.
2. Honoree must reside in Southern California (Orange, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Bernardino and Riverside Counties).
3. Honoree must be at least 21 years of age.
4. Submission deadline is October 1, 2009
NAWBO-OC Remarkable Woman Video Contest - Submission Instructions
1. Create and produce your two minute video. Be creative and have fun!
2. Upload the video to YouTube using your YouTube account. If you do not have a YouTube account, please create one by following the instructions on the YouTube home page. Title the video “NAWBO-OC Remarkable Women Contest ‘09″ (and add a unique name to identify your video). The title must be no longer than 120 characters. Please tag the video with the following keywords: NAWBO-OC, Remarkable Women, Orange County, business, contest (120 characters max). Also, please post a description of your video.
3. Once your video is uploaded, send an email to nawbooc@gmail.com providing us with your contact information (name, phone number, email address) and a link back to the YouTube video.
4. All submissions must be received on or before 12:00 midnight P.D.T. on October 1, 2009.
5. If the video meets the specified submission guidelines, it will be added to the “Favorites” section of the NAWBO-OC YouTube Channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/nawbooc).
6. By October 5, 2009, three winners will be selected based on the submission guidelines. Winners will be notified by email and will be asked to either 1) email a downloadable file of the video; 2) Mail a CD with the video file to: Mirna Bard, 2973 Harbor Boulevard #834, Costa Mesa, CA 92626. Also include contestant’s contact information and honoree’s contact information (full name, mailing address, phone number and email address). The video and information should be emailed or in our possession no later than October 13, 2009.
7. By submitting your video, you give NAWBO-OC permission to upload it to the NAWBO-OC YouTube channel, share it on the NAWBO-OC Facebook fan page, Twitter profile, and possibly a NAWBO-OC blog as well as any media coverage related to NAWBO-OC and the Remarkable Women event.
8. Honorees of the winning videos will be sent a surprise gift along with a copy of the video courtesy of NAWBO-OC and PoshPartyBox.com.
