Grand Prize Details
Each grand prize includes 100 medallions produced by the Royal Canadian Mint featuring the winner’s face on one side and the VANOC/Mint logo on the other side PLUS a trip for 2 to Ottawa (on or about Canada Day, July 1, 2010) at which time they’ll be receive their medallions in person at the Mint. Approximate prize value: $10,000 each.

Video and Written Essay Submission
Guidelines
(a) Video: Video must not exceed 100mb and must be submitted in one of the following video formats: AVI, MOV, WMV, MP4, MPEG, FLV, 3GP, and 3G2.
- The submission will be done by uploading the video on the Microsite.
(b) Photo for written essay: No larger than 5MB. The photo should be in one of the following formats: gif, jpg, or jpeg
- The submission will be done by uploading the photo on the Microsite.
(c) Written Essay: the Entrant will write his/her written essay within the text box located on the Microsite. The Written Essay will include a maximum of 250 words.
Content Restrictions:
- The Submission must not contain material that violates or infringes another’s rights, including but not limited to privacy, publicity or intellectual property rights, or that constitutes copyrights infringement;
- The Submission must be an original work of authorship created by the person who submits the Submission;
- The Submission must not disparage the Sponsor, the Games and the Olympic Movement.
- The Submission must not contain brand names or trademarks other than the Sponsor mark which entrant has a limited license to use for the sole purpose or creating and uploading a Submission;
- If the name or likeness of any other person other than the Entrant is used in the Submission, the Entrant must have the prior written permission from such person(s) to use their name and likeness in the Submission and to grant the rights set forth herein. If requested by the Sponsor, an Entrant must be able to provide such permission in a form acceptable to Sponsor;
- The Submission must not contain text, footage, images, artwork, music, recordings or other copyrighted material not created by Entrant unless they have express written permission to use that material from the material provider;
- The Submission must not contain material that is inappropriate, indecent, obscene, hateful, tortuous, defamatory, slanderous or libellous;
- The Submission must not contain material that promotes racism, hatred or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability sexual orientation or age;
- The Submission must not make any political statements or any statement in opposition to any government;
- The Submission must not contain material that is unlawful, in violation of or contrary to the laws or regulations in an jurisdiction where Submission is created.
From all Submission received during the Eligible Period, the Sponsor will verify and judge all Submission on a daily basis. Should Entrant’s Submission qualifies and respect the content mentioned above, the Entrant’s Submission will be posted on the Micrositeand therefore, considered a valid entry, (after “Valid Entry”) for the purpose of this Contest. How to win:
The winner of each Grand Prize will be selected according to the following criteria:
The Grand Prize winner will be the Submission that receives the most votes during the contest period. One (1) Grand Prize for the Video Submission, One (1) Grand Prize for the Written Essay. An entrant can only win one prize.
The Voting Phase will be from February 10, 2010 and effective until March 21, 2010. During the Voting Phase, all Valid Entries will be posted on the Microsite in the ‘Stories’ section. Subject to the restrictions indicated herein, members of the public will be able to vote for the Submission (Valid Entry) they believe represent the most Vancouver 2010 Fan. For sake of clarity, voter will vote for the video that represents the most Vancouver 2010 Fan, and for the written essay that the voter believe represent the most Vancouver 2010 Fan. The voting will be online following the instruction indicated within the voting page.
Voting Limit: Each voter shall vote one (1) vote, per entry, per day (voter can vote for more than one submission) per day during the voting phase. On the same day, multiple votes received from any person or email address after the first vote is received from that person or email address will be void. Multiple voters are not permitted to share the same email address. Any attempt by any voter to submit more than the stated number of votes by using multiple/different email addresses, identities or other method will void that voter’s submission(s) and votes and he/she will be disqualified from further participation in the Contest.
Upon the end of the Voting Phase, in the event of a tie among two (2) or multiple Valid Entries, the Valid Entry that will have been submitted the first will be declared the winner.
The chance of being selected depends on the number of valid entries/submissions received before the end of the Eligible Period.
